I am an IBCLC, labor and delivery nurse, and a public health nurse and I love working with new parents and their babies. I’ve worked with hundreds of new moms and babies and I hope I can help you as well. I’m here to answer questions, address concerns, assess any issues that you might be having, and to help you move closer to your breastfeeding goals.
What is an IBCLC?
Lactation consultants are health care professionals who are experts in in the science of lactation, and breastfeeding. IBCLC stands for International Board Certified Lactation Consultants and is the highest level of certification in the field of lactation. To become certified, one must complete an intensive academic and clinical program and pass a rigorous exam. We are qualified to address a variety of breastfeeding issues including (but not limited to):low milk supply, slow weight gain, latching difficulties, breastfeeding premature infants, anatomy challenges for mom and/or baby with regards to breastfeeding, weaning, engorgement, plugged ducts, and mastitis.
